Multi-purpose shelters at 4 villages

Nagapattinam, July 13

Multipurpose shelters will be built in four tsunami-affected villages in Nagapattinam district at a total cost of Rs 6.50 lakh. Aide-et-Action, Chennai and Bharathi Women Development Centre are implementing the project funded by European Commission. Mr P.V. Rajendran, former MP, laid the foundation stone for the construction of multipurpose shelter at Maniyantheevi village in Nagapattinam distric, recently. Mr G. Jayakumar, Coordinator, Bharathi Women Development Centre, s aid that the multipurpose shelter would be built in 1,140 sq ft with life saving equipment and systems for emergency management. —
