Alternative Medicines States - Kerala Global meet on ayurveda Our Bureau Kochi, July 13 The year-long centenary celebrations of the renowned ayurveda physician and founder of Coimbatore Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, Arya Vaidyan P.V. Rama Varier, will come to a culmination with a global convention on ayurveda. The four-day event to be held in Coimbatore on August 21 to 24 will focus on three major themes facing health care practitioners all over the world. Geriatric, metabolic disorders and nutrition are the three focus areas of the convention. The deliberations will address the relevance of ayurveda in addressing these critical areas of health care. The sessions are structured with keynote address to be followed by three plenary lectures as well as two independent sessions on concepts and research. The keynote speaker will provide a perspective of the issue under discussion from both Ayurvedic and allopathic point of view. The plenary sessions to be attended by around 12 resource persons will address macro-level issues facing the three chosen areas of health care. The sessions on concepts and research will focus on micro level perspectives of the three themes.
