RBI chief visits Thanjavur library
Thanjavur, July 13
The Governor of Reserve Bank of India, Dr Y.V.
Reddy, visited the Saraswathi Mahal Library in
Thanjavur on Sunday. After the visit, he wrote in the
visitors' notebook: "It is humbling, fascinating, educating
and ennobling experience to be here. I must compliment
the devoted people working here. I hope to be back here
and learn as well as experience more. An unforgettable
experience." Sami Sivagnanam, Administrative Officer of
the library, received the Governor and explained to him
the various aspects of the library. The RBI Governor later
visited the art gallery and viewed the Chola-period icons
displayed there. He also visited the Big Temple. - Our
