Our Bureau

Kochi, July 12 IndAqua 2009 is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar on January 21-23 next year. The fourth event in the IndAqua series is expected to provide the right platform for traders to know about opportunities in aquaculture and build a network with major players in the industry, the Marine Products Export Development Authority pointed out.

Event schedule

The event would address critical issues affecting aquaculture, showcase and promote aquaculture products and services and discuss implementation of effective aquaculture management practices. While the first two days of the exposition is meant exclusively for delegates, the general public would be given entrance on the last day.

The event is expected to educate the farmers on good seed cultivation practices, focus on consistency in quality and price of feed and also on the chemicals and fertilizers used.

The venue would also help to bring together scientists, farmers, financiers and manufacturers to meet and air their problems and grievances. With foreign buyers expected to participate in the event, it would create new investment opportunities for Indian producers as well as reveal emerging global trends to Indian buyers.

Aqua farmers, entrepreneurs, farm associates, aqua clubs, technicians and technocrats from hatcheries, farm, feed mill process laboratories, input suppliers and agents, policy makers and research organisations from all over the country are expected to participate.

The exhibition would focus on aquaculture machinery and accessories suppliers, product promoters of shrimp and scampi, ornamental fish, on educational organisations as well as research and development organisations.
