Seminar on shipbreaking

Mumbai, July 15 A seminar on the future of Indian ship breaking and recycling industry will be held in New Delhi on July 19 to discuss domestic and global issues relating to the commercially important activity of breaking ships and recycling the parts in a sustainable manner.

Organised by MMR Events, the seminar would bring together various stakeholders in the industry to share domestic and global experiences in ship breaking and recycling.

The meeting would examine government policies, investment and trade opportunities, environmental issues and sustainable practices as also disposal and management of hazardous scrap, among others.

Experts with domain knowledge would share their views with the participants. Senior officials from the Directorate General of Shipping as also industry associations are scheduled to speak.
