Financial Performance Corporate Results - Software Prithvi posts Rs 6-cr loss
Our Bureau Hyderabad, July 15 Prithvi Information Solutions has registered revenues of Rs 319 crore and posted a loss of Rs 6 crore due to extraordinary items and including forex loss for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as against total income of Rs 260 crore and a net profit of Rs 28 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. The company crossed Rs 1,000 crore in revenues during financial year ending March 31, 2008 with revenues of Rs 1,113 crore and a net profit of Rs 64 crore as against total income of Rs 769 core and net profit of Rs 35.9 crore for the previous fiscal. The Executive Director of Prithvi, Mr V. Satish Kumar, told Business Line that the profitability was hit in spite of higher revenues due to few extraordinary items that included marked-to-market loss of Rs 31 crore, write-off of Rs 12 crore and forex loss of Rs 18 crore. However, going forward, the company is confident of improving its performance, even though the first quarter would be under pressure. The company is actively pursuing plans for a special economic zone, he said.
