R.V. Rajan re-elected President of RMAAI

Chennai, July 15 Mr R.V. Rajan, Chairman, Anugrah Madison, Chennai, has been re-elected as the President of the Rural Marketing Agencies’ Association of India (RMAAI) for the fourth term.

According to an official statement, the other office-bearers elected during the association’s third AGM held recently in Mumbai were Mr Pradeep Kashyap of MART as Vice-President; Mr Khurram Askari of Insight as Secretary; and Mr R. Parthasarathy of Kripa Outdoor as Treasurer.

The new committee members are Mr R.A. Patankar, Sampark; Mr Pradeep Lokhande, Rural Relations; Mr Sanjay Kaul, Impact; Mr Sandip Bansal, Xpanse Asia; Mr Sameer Gupte, Ogilvy Outreach; Mr Raj Kumar Jha, The Cube Insights; Mr Sanjay Pragat, Vision Force; and Mr Keshav Chandorkar of Linterland.

Speaking at the AGM, Mr Rajan said, “To make the association more inclusive so that interested people from any organisation like clients, ad agencies, academics or media can actively participate, effective October 2008, the association is changing its name to the ‘Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI)’ by dropping the word Agencies from its name.”

Since its launch three years ago, RMAAI has conducted three industry-focused seminars, held a contest for summer projects in rural marketing for management students, organised a national awards function to recognise the winners of the Rural Marketing Works Case Study Contest, besides bringing out the quarterly Rural Marketing Journal.
