Pesticides Rallis Q1 net zooms to Rs 4 cr Our Bureau Mumbai July 16 Rallis India has posted a net profit of Rs 4.23 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2008, as compared with Rs 1.42 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Revenues during the quarter touched Rs 186.98 crore (Rs 128.58 crore). Commenting on the performance, Mr V. Shankar, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the company, said: “The usage of agro chemical products is largely during the second and third quarters of the year and a satisfactory distribution of south-west monsoon is critical for us.” A company note said though initially the south-west monsoon arrived early in some areas, large pockets of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have received deficient precipitation so far. “Deficient to scanty rainfall in these areas has adversely impacted sowing of cotton crop. “Good rainfall in July and August will be decisive for normal crop acreages and performance of agri-input industry,” it said.
