Nod for Vallarpadam rail, road connectivity project

KOCHI,July 16: Decks have been cleared for setting up the rail and road connectivity to the proposed Vallarpadam Container Transhipment Terminal, with the Ernakulam District Administration completing the land acquisition for the project.

According to a senior official,4.30 hectares earmarked for the road connectivity was transferred to Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd on Tuesday. Besides, the Administration has already got possession of 43.75 hectares for the road link. The rail and road connectivity are on the prerequisites to the development of the International Container Transhipment Terminal at Vallarpadam.
