Cabinet nod for 6 GSLV flights

New Delhi, July 17

The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave approval for funding six Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicles (GSVL) operational flights at an estimated cost of Rs 1280.96 crore. The realisation of the six flights will see end-to-end capability to launch communication satellite being made available. Briefing newspersons after the meeting of the Cabinet, the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, said that the six flights are expected to be realised between 2010 and 2012. The launch will help meet the growing needs for transponders for meteorological and navigational services. - Our Bureau
