Madurai, July 17

Strengthen the rails to avert accidents, the Sattur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has said. In a letter addressed to the Union Railway Minister, Mr Lalu Prasad, the Chamber Secretary, Mr P. T. K. A. Balasubramanian, has said that speeding up of the trains without strengthening the rails will lead to fatal accidents. In the past few years, cracks in the rails and accidents are very commonly reported. Authorities should enforce permanent action and follow the prescribe d rules related to load factor.
