Sheffield Hallam University India office

New Delhi, July 19

UK-based Sheffield Hallam University, which opened an office in India, said it is looking to forge partnership with Indian universities to facilitate research related activities and faculty exchange. "Indian students make up for a significant chunk of the students population in UK. We are keen to develop faculty and student exchange programmes in India as well," Prof Philip Jones, Vice - Chancellor, Sheffield Hallam University said.

Asked if the varsity is planning to set up a campus in India , he said currently it is not in the pipeline. "We want students to come and experience the education system and faculty in the UK itself". On the India office, he said the office would act as a guide to students going to the university for studies. The university has a total strength of 29,000 students including about 3500 international students. There are about 400 Indian students. -Our Bureau
