GMR hikes bus fares to airport

Hyderabad, July 20

It is going to be costlier to travel in `Aeroexpress buses' that take people to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from midnight of Sunday. The GMR Hyderabad International Airport, which promotes the airport, has decided to increase fare steeply due to the increase in diesel price and other operating costs. The fare, which was Rs 95 per head one way, has been revised to Rs 150 from Keyes High School (Secunderabad), Paryatak Bhavan (Begumpet) and Hi-Tec City. It would be Rs 120 from Mehdipatnam and City College (Charminar). "The increased fare translates to less than Rs 5 per head per kilometre," a company release said here. The airport operates 35 dedicated Aeroexpress buses ferrying over 3,500 passengers. - Our Bureau
