`Focus on skill development'

Mangalore, July 20

The non-governmental organisations can look at creating vocational training facilities at village level to meet the needs of the country's growth, said Mr K.V. Kamath, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank. Speaking at the District Cabinet Installation of Lions Club in Mangalore on Saturday evening, he said that the growth momentum will continue in the country. The challenge in such a situation is to get people with right skills for jobs. The NGOs like Lions Club can look at addressing this challenge by creating skills among the youths. The NGOs can think of creating skill sets among the students coming from villages. They could also think of making the school dropouts ready with skill sets, he added. - Our Bureau
