Computer Associates celebrates 5-yr association with CA Hope School

Hyderabad, July 22 Employees of technology major CA (Computer Associates) on Tuesday announced the fifth year of association with the CA Hope School, helping children in their education initiatives.

CA Hope School was founded and is supported entirely by the company to the benefit of under-privileged children in Habsiguda in Hyderabad. Volunteers at the CA Hope School, along with teachers and students in classes from lower kindergarten to standard V, celebrated the five years of association.

Within six months of starting operations in Hyderabad, CA India Technology Centre employees in partnership with HOPE Foundation provides free English-based education, along with free books, uniforms, breakfast and mid-day meals for the school’s 200 students.

The President and Chief Operating Officer of the company, Mr Michael J. Christensen, who visited the school said, “Through our global CA Together philanthropy programme, we share our expertise and technology, along with substantial input from our employees, to support and strengthen local communities throughout the world. CA Hope School in Hyderabad is now looked upon as a model school in neighbouring areas.”

When the school moved into the current facility, company employees painted the building to provide students with a vibrant environment for learning. They also donated computers and educational CDs to the school.

Haleema, a class V student at the HOPE school, said “I am learning computers and am teaching my parents to speak a few words of English.”
