US-based Merrell shoes ties up with M&B Footwear for India foray

Wolverine World Wide Inc, a global footwear conglomerate, has teamed up with M&B Footwear to introduce Merrell in India.

Merrell is the flagship brand from Wolverine World Inc, US, and is currently available in 127 countries. The company is selling around 13 million pair of these outdoor performance shoes per annum.

Outdoor activities

The brand was introduced in India amidst lot of outdoor activities such as rappelling, rock climbing, biking, hiking, bridge slithering.

“Its international appeal, strong pitch, advanced technology, innovation and crisp positioning will certainly propel Merrell to get hugely popular,” said Mr Inder Dev Singh Musafir, Director, M&B Footwear.

Product range

The inaugural product range comprises 21 styles with combinations in men’s shoes priced between Rs 2,985 and Rs 3,985. Merrell’s women and kids range would be launched by early 2009.

Currently, Merrell brand is available at Walk in M&B (International footwear retail chain of M&B) 14 top-end shoe stores in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore. In this fiscal, the company is also planning to open at least three Merrell exclusive stores in the metros.
