Petroleum Oil production down 4.6% in June Our Bureau New Delhi, July 24 The domestic crude oil production declined 4.6 per cent in June this year at 2.64 million tonnes (mt) as against 2.77 mt produced during the corresponding period in the previous year. The latest data released here on Thursday shows that in June while onshore production went up 5.7 per cent touching 0.945 mt, offshore production decline by 9.6 per cent at 1.7 mt. Both onshore and offshore production were lower than planned production this June. The data shows that this year refinery production at 13.65 mt was higher than the planned target of 12.14 mt. “The crude throughput of IOC (Guwahati, Barauni, Koyali, Haldia, Mathura and Panipat), BPCL (Mumbai), HPCL (Mumbai and Visakhapatnam), CPCL (Manali and Narimanam), RPL (Jamnagar) and EOL (Vadinar) refineries have exceeded their planned target during June. “In the case of IOC (Digboi), BR&PL (Assam), NRL (Numaligarh) crude throughput was close to the target,” the statement adds. The production of natural gas increased by almost 2 per cent during June this year at 2632 million cubic metres against 2,582 million cubic metres during the year-ago period.
