Our Bureau New Delhi, July 24 Educomp Solutions, an e-learning company, said it would acquire 76 per cent stake in A-Plus Education Solution for Rs 10.75 crore in the next two years. A-Plus Education is operating under the brand name ‘Purple Leap’ and focuses on improving employability of college graduates. It was founded in 2005. Educomp will leverage its customer base across 5 million students in India, going up to 10 million by 2009-10, who face a dilemma to decide a career after they graduate from high school. It will offer them career options so that they are economically empowered as well as are able to feed India’s large and growing talent gap. Mr Shantanu Prakash , Chief Executive Officer Educomp Solutions said, “Along with our recently announced partnership with Raffles Education Corporation for professional education, the company’s foray into skills completes our 360-approach to helping students achieve their fullest potential.” The EduLeap career centres in colleges will have facilities for assessment and testing, impartation of training and strong placement partnerships with corporates. The infrastructure would include e-learning and online portals for complete student lifecycle, including assessment, training and placement.
