Our Bureau

Chennai, July 25 Technology Frontiers (TechFront) India, a Chennai-based digital solution provider, has secured a five-year contract worth over $5 million from two European Premier League Football clubs – FC Brasov and FC Universitetea Craiova — to install LED (light emitting diodes) Perimeter System for advertising covering all 180 metres of the football ground of the two clubs.

For the first time an Indian company has penetrated the European football league. The company is in talk with four other clubs for a similar deal, the company’s Managing Director, Mr S. Muralidharan, told newspersons.

European football is a big market for LED Perimeter System.

For instance, he said, sponsors annually spend $14-15 million in the Spanish football club Real Madrid to see their names displayed in the LED perimeter across the ground, he added.

More and more sports stadiums use LED technology around the perimeter to improve image quality during broadcast and offer high-quality advertising. For instance, the LED technology provided by TechFront was in use in the recent DLF IPL 2008 cricket tournament. This included 14 LED mega screens, LED perimeter systems for its principal sponsor DLF of over 1,800 sq. ft and electronic scoreboard across eight venues. TechFront has also secured the sole and exclusive rights for digital management of LED mega screen and LED perimeter systems for the ongoing three test and five one-day international cricket series between India and Sri Lanka. The company will be introducing during the series 3D animated display on LED mega screen during the five ODIs providing in-video format the players’ performance in the match on real time, he said.

For the current fiscal, the company hopes to double its revenues to Rs 60 crore, he said.
