Kolkata, July 27 Merloni TermoSanitari (India) Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of Italy-based MTS Spa, will focus on tapping the market for providing customised solar water heating services to industry, according to Mr A.K. Rathi, Managing Director.

The total market for solar water heaters in India stands at around Rs 150 crore, Mr Rathi told reporters at a press meet here on Friday.

Solar heaters contribute nearly 20 per cent of the total company business in India.

“Thirty per cent of our solar water heating business in India currently comes in the form of providing customised water heating services to different industries. This will go up by 50 per cent within the next three years,” he said. Customised water heating services, which currently contribute a mere 5-6 per cent of total business, are expected to go up by 10 per cent during the same period, he added.

The company is looking to tap a range of sectors such as real estate, hospitality, health care and other industries for its water heating services, he said pointing out that such industries typically require 1 lakh litres of hot water a day.

The company occupies 35 per cent of a Rs 400-crore market, Mr Rathi said.
