India international jewellery show from Aug 7

Mumbai, July 29 The Gem and Jewellery Promotion Council will hold the 25th edition of India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) from August 7 to 11 at the NSE Complex, Mumbai. The expo started 25 years with just 34 exhibitors to about 800 this year.

IIJS has over 19,000 pre-registered visitors, 790 exhibitors and over 1,600 booths.

Mr Sanjay Kothari, Chairman, GJPEC, said, “We have a wait list of 200-300 exhibitors who could not be accommodated due to infrastructure constraints”.

Innovation is the central theme of IIJS 2008, the objective is to instil creative thinking not only in jewellery but also in the field of business management, he added.

The Solitaire Awards and Fashion Shows will recognise the creativity and the craftsmanship of jewellery designers.

The spectrum seminars under modern retailing practices, innovation in business and the luxury market will offer new insights into the jewellery business.
