HUL appoints ombudsman for consumer disputes redressal

Mumbai, July 29 Hindustan Unilever Ltd has appointed Mr Justice M.S. Rane (Retd) as the ombudsman for consumer disputes redressal. This is the first time an FMCG company has appointed an independent and expert mediation procedure for the benefit of its consumers.

The ombudsman will further augment the efforts of the company’s consumer care helpline services – Levercare.

Mr Ashok Gupta, Executive Director, Legal, Hindustan Unilever, said, “We respect the legitimate interests of the consumer and always engage on consumer grievances in such a manner that we are recognised and trusted for our integrity and for the high standards we set in the quality and safety of our products and services.”
