Bank of Baroda's loan for farmers

Ahmedabad, July 29

Bank of Baroda plans to disburse Rs 1,285 crore to farmers in Gujarat by the end of March 2009, according to a bank press release. The disbursement in the agricultural sector of the State by the bank will increase to 33 per cent. The bank has adopted 25 villages, where it proposes to give loans to the tune of Rs 90 crore in three years and spend around Rs 50-70 lakh for each village in developmental activities. The bank plans to start credit counselling centres at Kheda and Navsari taking the total number to 16 and four training centres on RUDSETI type model during this financial year. - Our Bureau
