Kinetic Motor Company: Milestones

1984: Pune-based Kinetic group enters into a collaboration with Honda Motor Co of Japan and forms Kinetic Honda Motor Ltd, to make gearless scooters

1998: Kinetic acquires majority stake in Kinetic Honda Motor Ltd

1999: Kinetic Motor Co Ltd is formally incorporated

2000: Kinetic begins building product portfolio to be present in different segments of the two-wheeler industry

2001: Kinetic strikes an alliance with Hyosung Motors of Korea; launches supersport bike Comet and cruiser Aquila

2004: Alliance with Italjet Moto Spa of Italy; Kinetic acquires production lines and complete distribution rights to seven scooter designs

2006: Sanyang Industry Co Ltd (SYM) of Taiwan picks up 11.1 per cent stake in Kinetic Motors through preferential allotment; Kinetic to produce SYM’s two-wheelers
