Mumbai, July 31

Strong revenue growth from its enterprises segment has led Geodesic Information Systems Ltd to report a 103-per cent rise in net profit to Rs. 58.44 crore for the June quarter as compared to Rs 28.73 crore reported in the same quarter a year ago.

Geodesic provides mobile and desktop solutions for instant messaging, internet radio and mobile voice over Internet protocol or VoIP.

Revenues for the quarter were up by 116 per cent to Rs 129.6 crore (Rs 60.98 crore).

Geodesic signed five new enterprise customers across the US, Europe and Asia during the quarter.

“The global need to reduce communication and user acquisition costs, shorten sales cycles yet enhance customer delight and commitment, has resulted in strong revenues growth from the Enterprise segment across the US and Asia”, Mr Kiran Kulkarni, Managing Director, Geodesic Information Systems Ltd, said.

The company also added about 2.78 lakh new retail users during the first quarter, according to a statement from Geodesic.
