Jute awareness camps

Visakhapatnam, July 31

The Andhra Pradesh Jute Development Centre is organising awareness camps from this month all over the State to make farmers, entrepreneurs and the public aware of the potential for developing jute diversified products in the State, according to Mr B.V. Rama Rao, Managing Director. In a press release, he said the first such camp would be held at Srikakulam on August 9, the second at Vizianagaram on August 12, the third at Eluru on 14th and the fourth at Kakinada on August 22. Such camps would be held in all district headquarters and the dates for other centres would be decided later. He said there were 116 jute units in the country, with 29 of them in AP and the all the units in the State were in a good shape. The APJDC was setting up a jute park at Sabbavaram in Visakhapatnam district at a cost of Rs 100 crore and the State Government had agreed to give the land (150 acres) for it. - Our Bureau
