Our Bureau Bangalore, July 31 Infosys Technologies Ltd, India’s second largest IT services provider, said on Thursday that it launched ShoppingTrip360, a platform that enables a suite of managed-information services to create a 360-degree view of real-time in-store shopper and shelf activity. ShoppingTrip360 uses wireless sensor-based applications within stores, which allows shoppers, retailers and consumer packaged goods companies to collaborate in real-time by creating an information ecosystem, the company said in a statement. Infosys said clients subscribing to ShoppingTrip360 services would have to pay for the information that enables business benefits. Clients would not have to pay for the infrastructure, it added. It could help companies make choices on the right locations in the store to place their promotional products, and gain greater visibility on the efficacy of their promotional spends. It could also enable shoppers to use a concierge service on their cell phones to organise their shopping trip, Infosys said. The technology behind ShoppingTrip360 is based on Infosys’ intellectual property. For this service, the company is targeting the domestic market as well, said Mr Mohandas Pai, Member of the Board.
