Cherma’s retail to expand across AP

Hyderabad, Aug 1 Cherma’s, a Hyderabad-based retail chain of readymade garments, is looking at opening three new stores every year in various towns and cities in Andhra Pradesh.

“Currently we have seven stores – five in Hyderabad and one each in Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam. The plan now is to have stores across the State which would be more than 30,000 sq ft each,” Mr K.F. Pestonji, Managing Director of Cherma’s Exquisite Ltd, said while addressing a press conference here.

The company, across all its outlets, totally has a floor area of 1,70,000 sq ft and its manufacturing facilities are spread across 2,40,000 sq ft.

The turnover of the company, according to him, is around Rs 200 crore, out of which Rs 125 crore is from the retail garment section and the rest from exports.

Mr Pestonji was recently awarded the Retail Entrepreneur of the Year 2007-08 by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India.
