The Hindu Business Line : Plumbing body to launch Coimbatore chapter today

Coimbatore, Aug. 3 The Coimbatore chapter of the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) is to be inaugurated on Monday (August 4) by the IPA President, Mr Sudhakaran Nair.

This would be the eleventh chapter for the IPA.

IPA has chapters across locations such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur and Kolkata.

This body of plumbing professionals is a forum for exchange of ideas and dissemination of information amongst its members.

According to Mr Gopinath Arunachalam, President of the Coimbatore Chapter, over 1000 members representing every segment of the trade including consultants, manufacturers, contractors and traders have registered with the apex body till date.

The association has set up its first lab at Pune for imparting education in plumbing.

‘We have also constructed a state-of-the-art plumbing lab and institution at Sri Ramakrishna Advanced Training Institute here. This lab has been fully sponsored by MNCs like Kohler, Grohe, Duravit and Indian companies such as Supreme, Finolex Pipes, Prince Pipes, Water Tec etc.,’ he said, adding that the lab has been established to impart hands-on training to engineers, supervisors, plumbing contractors and plumbers.
