Airtel covers 300 locations in AP

Hyderabad, Aug. 4 Airtel today announced that it expanded its mobile services to over 300 locations across Andhra Pradesh in three months, including to areas with a population of less than 5,000.
With a base of 6.76 million customers in the AP circle (according to COAI June 2008 figures), and new network expansion, Airtel covers 82 per cent of the urban and rural population. The coverage is backed by 82,600 Airtel retail outlets to service customers.
Announcing the launch of new towns, Mr. Elango T, the CEO of Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel, Andhra Pradesh, said, “Our customers are today based in remote corners of AP and rollout of services in new towns and villages gives them the freedom of experiencing complete mobility.”
