Suven presents Alzheimer’s drug data

Hyderabad, Aug 4

Suven Life Sciences Ltd presented preclinical data for its lead antagonist drug candidate at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference on Alzheimer’s disease (ICAD-2008) and Drug Discovery & Development of Innovative Therapeutics held in Chicago and Boston recently. “We are extremely pleased with the data emerging from our proprietary 5-HT6 antagonist program. SUVN-502 produces a robust effect in key models of cognition with a favourable sa fety and pharmacokinetic profile, providing a strong rationale for clinical development in a cognition indication,” Mr Venkat Jasti, Chief Executive Officer of Suven Life Sciences Ltd, said in a release. The phase I of the drug had commenced at Basel, Switzerland and were expected to be completed by Dec 2008, he added.
