Indian Hume to raise output

Coimbatore, Aug. 4

Indian Hume Pipe Co Ltd has said that to meet the requirements of orders on hand, the company is in the process of enhancing its pipe production capacity by setting up three plants at two locations in Andhra Pradesh - one at Chillamuthur, Anantapur district and another in Kurnool district - at an outlay of about Rs 20 crore. The site in Kurnool district is being finalised. The value of orders on hand is Rs 1,256 crore as against Rs 592 crore as on date last year. For about 83 per cent of balance orders, requirement of steel and cement is covered under escalation clause with the clients, thereby providing protection against the risk of higher cost due to increase in the prices of materials. - Our Bureau
