Kochi port staff body offers support to management

Our Bureau

Kochi, Aug. 5 The Managing Committee of Cochin Port Staff Association (CPSA) has resolved that the union, while protecting the legitimate rights and privileges of the workers, will extend all support to the port management in their actions to surmount the serious and intricate crisis that the port has been facing.

The Managing Committee has entreated the port management to take urgent actions for installing the modern machineries to make the cargo handling frugal and profitable, which would also help making Kochi competitive among other south Indian ports.

The association offers its full support for making Kochi a class I port among the south Indian ports by curbing the illegal and exorbitant expenditure that make cargo handling operations unattractive, with the help of outside service providers.
