Outlook HM to launch small CV in Oct Kolkata, Aug. 5 Hindustan Motors Ltd (HM) will launch a small commercial vehicle in October this year. The vehicle, for which field tests are currently on, will be manufactured at the company’s Uttarpara factory, its Chairman, Mr C.K. Birla, said at the company’s annual general meeting held here today. During the ensuing festive season, HM will also launch the high-end Outlander vehicle from the Mitsubishi stable. It will be priced at around Rs 20 lakh. Mr Birla said the company’s auto components business was a major thrust area and had emerged as a major revenue earner for the company. He said the company was taking steps to cut costs as prices of key inputs and energy costs had gone up lately. During the year ended March 31,2008, HM has posted a higher net profit of Rs 30.84 crore, against Rs 13.30 crore in in 2006-07.
