Apollo opens ‘NurseStations’

Hyderabad, Aug. 5

Taking a cue from the one-minute clinics in the West, Apollo Hospitals group has opened a new service called NurseStations at various Apollo Pharmacies. To begin with, 30 pharmacies in the twin cities would have trained nurses. “These centres would act as first point of reference for patients. They will also take care of vaccinations and routine tests,” Ms Shobana Kamineni, Director, said. These centres would also help patients or their kin book appointments wi th relevant doctors. “The nurses would also be on call for assistance at homes for dialysis, regular dressing and provide care to pregnant women,” she said. The service would be enhanced to other pharmacies in a phased manner. She said the pharmacy division, which would be hived off into a separate company, would have 1,000 outlets by the end of the financial year from the present 750. –
