Books on agriculture released

Kochi, Aug. 6

The former President, Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, released and accepted the first copies of two books, Issues in National and International Agriculture and The Agronomy and Economy of Cardamom – The Queen of Spices, compiled by Prof Prabhakaran Nair, agricultural scientist, at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai. The first book is a critical assessment of the state of Indian agriculture vis-À-vis global agriculture, highlighting various is sues and how to redeem the Indian farmer. —
