Hyderabad, Aug. 7 The New Delhi-based Institute of Clinical Research (India) has set up its campus here to offer M.Sc and post graduate diploma in clinical research.

“The pharmaceutical industry in India currently requires 50,000 clinical research professionals for conducting clinical trials while the availability is very limited. Our objective is to bridge the gulf between the demand and supply,” Dr S.K. Gupta, Dean of ICRI, told newspersons here on Thursday.

The courses are open to graduates in life sciences and pharmacology.

The fee for M.Sc programme would be Rs 2.4 lakh and the classes would commence from end of this month.

ICRI currently has about 1,000 students in its campuses in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

“We have invested Rs 20 crore in Hyderabad campus which has state of the art laboratories. Besides, we also impart practical training to our students in various companies,” he said.

ICRI is in the process of finalising deals with the local industry for the purpose, Mr Gupta added.
