Infrastructure facilities sought

Madurai, Aug. 7

The Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the Chief Minister, Mr M. Karunanidhi, to take the initiative in establishing a number of infrastructure facilities required for upgrading industrial and economic growth in southern Tamil nadu. A delegation from the chamber led by its President Mr S. Rethinavelu, has in a memorandum submitted to him, urged for setting up a car manufacturing unit in Madurai. It also pleaded for early commencement of works on the Tidel and IT Parks. It has sough expeditious establishment of the proposed SIPCOT Industrial Estate near Thirumangalam. —
