New Business HCC joint venture wins Rs 1,398-cr pipeline order Our Bureau Mumbai Aug. 7 Hindustan Construction Company-led joint venture has bagged a Rs 1,398.50-crore order for construction of three rows of 38.75 km pipelines from an existing intake on the Godavari river at Gangaram village to Bheemghanpur tank in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh. The pipeline will be of three metre diameter. HCC’s joint venture partners are Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd and CKD Blansko Engineering of the Czech Republic, and its share of the order is Rs 629.33 crore. The order, part of the J Chokka Rao Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme, has been awarded by the Irrigation & Command Area Development (ICAD) department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It involves design and laying of the pipelines to carry 49.60 cumecs of water from the intake pump house to Bheemghanpur tank, besides the execution of civil, electro-mechanical, hydro-mechanical, instrumentation at the pumping station, including communication system. The project is scheduled for completion in 36 months. HCC said the project will irrigate an ayacut of 3.43 lakh acres in Warangal district of the Telangana region and was part of the government’s Jalayagnam programme to irrigate underdeveloped regions of the State.
