Logix Microsystems to set up automotive photography studio

Manu P. Toms

Mumbai, Aug . 7 Automotive e-retailing solutions provider, Logix Microsystems, is planning to set up the Asia’s first automotive photography studio in India, which will help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with high quality pictures for the ad campaigns. The studio guarantees advanced automotive photography which will enhance mainly the pre-launch advertising blitzkrieg launched by car manufacturers.

Eyeing locations

“We are looking out for a location to set up the studio. This can be either in Bangalore or Mumbai. We will soon finalise it,” Mr Sanjay Soni, Managing Director, Logix Microsystems, told Business Line. Logix has set up an automotive photography studio in the US two years ago and is in the process of setting up one in Europe.

Automotive studio is a relatively new concept in the car marketing space. There are half a dozen full-fledged automotive studios in the US and two in Europe. The cars will be brought in the studio and high resolution three-dimensional images, which are to be used in multimedia ad content, will be created.

“The studio, specially designed for automobile photography, looks for business from OEMs. We are in talks with a number of car manufacturers, mainly European companies,” said Mr Soni.

“Setting up an automotive studio in India is cost-competitive when compared with other geographies. In the US, we set up a studio in Long Beach, California, at a cost of $1 million and the studio in Brussels, which is currently under development, will cost €1 million. Whereas, in India the estimated cost is Rs 3 crore-4 crore,” he said.

Logix’s studio in Brussels will be operational in September.
