Software Logistics - Software Maxsoft eyeing vehicle safety solutions space Vinson Kurian Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 7 Bangalore-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) player Maxsoft India is gearing up to offer complete solutions in vehicle safety. Opportunities are unfolding in areas such as crash and impact analysis, NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and emission analysis especially after the World Health Organisation assessed road traffic injuries as a preventable global health problem. To be able to provide complete solutions in these areas, it is required to have coupling of CAE methodologies in 1D, 2D and 3D. “Our business model is being suitably tweaked in this direction,” Mr Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, CEO, told Business Line. Another area opening up is from the airline’s demand to reduce development costs and improve operating efficiencies by cutting costs and carbon emissions. Engineering services for aircraft original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can be of two categories — manufacturing services and CAE services. India has adequate trained resources in manufacturing and overhaul of components to bring about cost cuts as well as in applying effective CAE methods for improving component efficiency to reduce emissions. The option in front of the OEMs is to outsource activities related to these engineering services to countries such as India. “Our company is engaged in CAE outsourcing with some European customers in aircraft systems and aerospace propulsion,” Mr Gopalakrishnan said. Maxsoft will be working in niche areas such as multi-domain system modelling and simulations and smart structural analysis for complicated aerospace applications ranging from propulsion, engines, fuel systems, actuations and pyrotechnics to ground forces.
