New Delhi, Aug 8

After Nasscom and Business Process Industry Association of India (BPIAI), the IT industry is all set to see the entry a new association ‘Other Service Providers Association of India’ next week.

The OSPAI would function as an association for companies operating in areas such as medical transcription services, financial services, KPO, telemedicine, tele-education, tele-trading, billing services, and network operating centres, amongst others.

“We have 30 members including industry heavyweights such as Genpact, GE Money, HCL BPO, Accenture, Citigroup Global Services, Wells Fargo, and Avaya, Amex,” Mr N.L. Verma, Secretary General of OSPAI, said.

The association would be formally launched on Monday, and is expected to act as a platform to facilitate the overall development of outsourcing industry. It would take up with the Government various issues such as the review of OSP policy including simplification of procedures of the registration; and matters pertaining to security including encryption.

OSPAI also plans to create awareness on the new technology trends, in a bid to ensure that latest technologies are taken into consideration when policies are formulated.
