MCX delivers 3,118 gold guineas

Mumbai, Aug 11

Multi Commodity Exchange Ltd delivered 3,118 coins of 8 gm each (about 25 kg valued Rs 3.18 crore) on expiry of first-ever Gold Guinea July contract. The average trading volume was Rs 7.63 crore a day. Mr Suresh Parasrampuria, Chief Business Officer, MCX, said the settlement price was Rs 10,224 per 8 gm (including a making charge of Rs 200 per 10 gm) against Rs 11,052 in physical gold coin markets on Friday.Retail participation in the contract is on the rise which was disc overed from the fact that more than 15 members took delivery on behalf of their multiple clients, each delivery ranging from 1 to 10 coins, he said.
