New Delhi, Aug 11 Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has won the Engineering Export Promotion Council’s top export award for the 18th successive year. Conferred on BHEL in the category ‘Star Performer in 2006-07: Project Exports - Large Enterprise’, the award was presented by the Minister for External Affairs, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, a BHEL statement said. The award comes at a time when BHEL has been making efforts to become a major global player by enhancing its presence in intern ational markets. It has identified overseas business as a major thrust area as part of its ‘Strategic Plan 2012’.
