‘Improve CASA share’

Mangalore, Aug 11

The Karnataka Bank Chairman, Mr Ananthakrishna, has stressed the need for giving priority to cost reduction by improving the share of CASA (current account and savings account) and by increasing the fee-based income of the bank. A bank release said that he was addressing the quarterly regional review conference of the bank here on Monday. “Every attempt should be made to raise the share of CASA deposits in the face of thinning margins,” he said. Any addition to NPAs should be checked by constant monitoring. Swift action should be initiated for recovery of tainted assets by recourse to all remedies available, he said. —
