Alliances & Joint Ventures Reliance Retail ties up with UK toy retailer Hamleys Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug. 12 Reliance Retail has tied up with Hamleys, the UK-based toy retailer. As part of the exclusive pan-India franchise arrangement, Reliance will open two flagship stores in Mumbai and New Delhi next year. This will be followed by a regional expansion across the country over the next few years. According to a statement from Reliance, the Indian toys and games market is estimated at around Rs 2,500 crore. This includes urban and semi-urban market under organised and unorganised categories together. Reliance Retail Ltd is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries. It currently operates 600 stores in over 57 cities with over 3.5 million sq ft space. The multi-format retailer operates brands such as Reliance Fresh, Reliance Digital, Reliance Mart, Reliance Trends, Reliance Wellness, Reliance iStore, Reliance Footprint and others.
