New Products & Services Orange Care launching sanitising system R. Ravikumar Chennai, Aug. 15 Orange Care Solutions Pvt Ltd is planning to introduce a multinational brand sanitiser system, ‘Sagewash’, in the Indian market. The high-pressure sanitising system, made in the UK, comes with a patented hose-end sprayer gun and chemical capsules. It uses hydro-injection technology to spray a solution of hypochlorous acid, which is “many times more effective disinfectant than the conventional liquid bleach”, says Mr M. Ramesh, Director, Orange Care Solutions. The gun, connected to a regular water tap with a common hose pipe, will dispense disinfectant by mixing water with a special chemical capsule (from the special chamber provided for the purpose) – that contains calcium hypochlorite. The capsule, according to Mr Lee Llewellyn, Managing Director, Sage Systems, is also much more stable than the more commonly used sodium hypochlorite (household bleach). While the sprayer gun comes at a price of around Rs 18,000, each capsule would cost around Rs 900. However, according to Mr T.K. Raju, Director of Orange Care, sole distributor in the country, it is cost effective too, as each capsule can last for up to 3 spraying hours, which works out to less than 20 paise a litre of disinfectant solution.
