Spot rubber rules weak

Aravindan

Kottayam, Aug. 16 Physical rubber prices showed a weak trend on Saturday. RSS 4 moved down to Rs 139 from Rs 140 a kg on buyer resistance while most of the grades posted moderate losses during the weekend session. The trading activities appeared visibly dull in the absence of international guidance and domestic consumer support, sources said. Covering groups were cautious enough to keep a low profile and the market showed signs of weakness after hitting a lower top indicating technical weakness, they added.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 139 (140); RSS-5: 136 (136.50); ungraded: 130 (130); ISNR 20: 133 (134) and latex 60 per cent: 83 (85).
