ESIC plans hospital in Peenya

Bangalore, Aug. 17 The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) plans to set up a new hospital in Peenya to cater to the large number of employees at the Peenya Industrial Area. ESIC has already acquired land for the project and hopes to launch it soon.

Disclosing this on Saturday, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Mr Oscar Fernandes said the new hospital will have 200 beds and will be equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities to match the standards of corporate hospitals. Mr Fernandes was speaking to newspersons after laying the foundation stone for the expansion of the ESIC’s Rajaji Nagar unit.

An investment of Rs 180 crore will be made to equip the hospital.
