Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 18

A two-day handloom show and a handloom buyer-seller meet will be held here on October 17 and 18.

The Integrated Handloom Cluster Development Programme (IHCDP), Thiruvananthapuram Cluster, is organising the Handloom Show-2008 and the buyer-seller meet. IHCDP is an initiative of the Union Handloom Development Commissioner and is being implemented in the State by Hanveev in association with the Directorate of Handloom and Textiles.

The State Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr Elamaram Kareem, said here on Monday that the handloom show had been planned with the objective of exploring new markets as part of the efforts to develop and promote the handloom industry. The show would present innovative designs and products, he said.
